Coffee Zingaro（Cafe Zingaro）

The pancakes have a chewy texture, visitors say, as does the ice cream on the flower float. At Coffee Zingaro (Cafe Zingaro), pairing the two makes for a memorable sweet treat. The floats come in melon, soda and strawberry, with a flower-shaped vanilla-mousse ice cream on top.

Drinks include matcha latte, whisked to order with a tea whisk. Made with matcha from Gion Tsujiri in Kyoto, it contains no added syrup: the tea’s natural umami and sweetness mingle with milk. For a coffee-based option, try the Viennese coffee, served with a flower-shaped cookie. Cool whipped cream contrasts with the warm, bittersweet coffee. Rice-flour muffins are also available; the Earl Grey version has tea leaves mixed into the batter and raspberry for a tart note. A flower-shaped cookie baked into the muffin adds another texture.

Inside the café on the 2 floor of Nakano Broadway, the tables double as retro game consoles. It’s a place to spend time playing around as well as choosing something to eat or drink.
